UPNSMOKIN offers CHAMPIONSHIP winning barbeque for your special event. Unlike many chain restaurants our barbeque is smoked fresh for every event and never reheated. We feel that you and your guests should enjoy the best barbeque available and we strive never to take any short cuts while preparing your food. Our meats are cooked low and slow (up to 14 hours) using the finest woods and custom made charcoal to achieve the perfect barbeque experience. If you ever have seen a television program showing a barbeque contest and wondered how award winning barbeque tastes, we can provide that experience for you and your guests.

UPNSMOKIN started out as a hobby doing BBQ contests in Western Montana. I was introduced to the crazy world of barbeque by my wife’s Uncle, Brent Walton. Brent and his wife Kim are well known in the barbeque world as QN4U. They have won many Grand Championships in the BBQ world and I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from them. They gave me a base line to start from and it has been an obsession from that moment.

When I wanted to build our catering trailer I thought my wife was going to make me sleep in it but to my surprise she has been more than supportive in my new obsession. Actually, she has been the back bone to our success in catering and vending. She comes up with new ideas for our side dishes and desserts leaving me the time to focus on the barbeque. For your next event I feel we have a complete package to offer you.

We have now focused our attention to catering and vending in Western Montana as well as traveling to some of the larger contests across the country.

We also try to do at least 2 charitable functions each year raising funds for children that are in need. (see our special events page)

I recently had an opportunity to try UpNSmokin's ribs, I personally am not much of a rib fan, so I was a little apprehensive about it but .... Damn, they're good! It is no wonder they took first place in the Montana state BBQ cookoff. As I stated I do not eat much ribs, only every once in a great while do I even feel like trying them, I have had way to many people tell me they had good ribs and they were just ribs. When I saw the bones sliding effortlessly out of meat that started me to think maybe this will be one of those few times that I actually will be able to enjoy eating ribs. Yes sir, I did, I was able to have pork and beef ribs both and would recommend these to anyone even the toughest rib connoisseur, UpNSmokin gets my vote for best Ribs and friendly service at a great price.
